Does anyone else find referring to 2017 as ‘last year’ strange? I will probably get used to it mid way through 2018.

Yesterday (New years eve) was my birthday and I had such a great day. As well as receiving the most beautiful roses a few days before (had to include an image because I love them so much), I also opened this beautiful Burberry card holder yesterday morning. I love card holders and I have quite a few that I’ve collected over the years.

I’ve always enjoyed having my birthday on new years eve, I suppose because I’ve never known any different. There’s something pretty spectacular about having fireworks on your birthday every year, no matter which country you are in (watching it on TV counts too). I’ve been lucky enough to watch firework displays and count down to the new year in places such as London, Sydney Harbour Bridge and in front of the castle in Magic Kingdom, Florida  (a few times, because Disney is the best, ok). Everyone’s in the partying mood too on new years eve, so it’s fun celebrating new year whilst also enjoying the last few hours of my birthday with people I love.

I thought I’d include a few images of my birthday/NYE outfit. I decided on all black, although I changed my t-shirt from black to grey to add a little contrast. My t-shirt is Allsaints and I paired it with my black Balmain blazer for warmth (not about that cold life). I get drawn to my Chanel Le Boy bag when I wear my blazer as matches so well, so I thought my Saint Laurent Anja boots would go quite well as they also have silver hardware. These boots are a firm favourite and completely my kind of footwear. The thin heel and pointed toe dresses them up, with edgy detailing to make them a little more unusual. They are surprisingly comfy and really easy to walk in, although I find most pointed toe shoes pinch after a few hours constant wear and these are no exception. I kept my jewellery simple, sticking to silver tones. My rings are Pandora, my watch and necklace are Michael Kors and my bracelets are Monica Vinader and Tiffany.

As you can probably tell by my footwear and lack of coat, this year was not a year of standing outside watching the London firework display, I did catch it on the TV though. This was after consuming a lot of food and prosecco earlier that evening.

So it’s January 2018. I really have no idea what this year is going to hold, but I guess we are now on the way to finding out. I have had a word with myself that I need to throw myself into my blog more, so we will see how that one goes. If there is anything you would like me to feature this year please let me know. I will hopefully have lots of new content coming very soon.

Until then, best wishes and a very happy new year to everyone!
