Considering this bathroom has been around two years in the making and that I’ve been storing the majority of the things for it (toilet, sink, etc) in the garage since around September/October last year, it feels so good that it is finally complete! I won’t go into all of the problems and set backs that have happened, (think multiple plumbers…), but it feels slightly surreal that it’s finished. I have included lots of images so you can see the design for yourself, but I wanted to keep it simple, clean, modern and in keeping with my bedroom (as it is my ensuite). My vision was to mix together different textures and patterns (marble, paint, high gloss, mirrors, etc) and for the fixed fittings to be relatively plain, so I can add/remove colour in the form of decorative accessories to suit me. As you can see, I have added some pink, but I plan on swapping items around when I feel like changing things up.
The majority of the things in the bathroom (toilet, sink, radiator, shower, mirrored cabinet, etc) are from Sanctuary Bathrooms. I love the shower because it has a ledge for shampoo bottles and containers. The shower tray and glass panel are from Shower Enclosures Direct and the gloss cabinet is from Porcelanosa. I chose an anthracite radiator because I wanted it to contrast against the vein in the marble. The round mirror was from Laura Ashley, which I ordered before deciding on any of the other furniture and layout of the room. You may say that was stupid, but it was love at first sight and knew I needed to have it! My two main mirrors in my bedroom are rectangle so I liked the idea of contrasting from those and the see through glass section reminded me of glass shower partitions (I don’t know, my brain works in mysterious ways). The grey storage trunk is from Oliver Bonas (I have two smaller ones in my bedroom, in white and pink). The soap and hand lotion dispensers are Baylis and Harding, the large crystal on the window ledge is from Homesense and my candles are from Laura Ashley and Diptyque.
I certainly wouldn’t say my bathroom is complete, I never say that with any room. There’s always room for change and sudden bursts of inspiration. I have ordered a few more bits and pieces which will be added soon (once they arrive).
