I recently purchased a pair of Hermès Oran Sandals in brown (the colour name is gold piqûres écrues) and I thought I’d write a post on how I’m getting on with them so far, what they fit like and how comfortable I have found them to be.

I have wanted a pair of Oran sandals for a few years but put them off (I didn’t think I’d wear them that much, oh how wrong I was). I needed a pair of tan shoes (well wanted, but I prefer needed) to go with a few of my handbags in the summer and knew which to go for. I ordered them online from the Hermès website (I’ve linked the style here) and I’ve noticed stock and sizes change every day, so if the pair you want aren’t on there, keep checking back!

I’ve tried to wear them as frequently as I can to break them in a little and see how they wear. As for sizing, I chose to play it safe with my normal UK shoe size and they fit perfectly, so I would say they are true to size. I have slim/narrow feet and find them to fit well. I imagine they will stretch over time, being leather, although I haven’t noticed much change so far. I had been advised by a few ladies that the Oran sandals can be quite uncomfortable for the first few wears and require ‘breaking in’ but I haven’t found them to rub so far. I wouldn’t say they are shoes you would walk in for hours, miles and miles, but I wouldn’t do that with these sandals anyway.

For now I think that’s everything. If I have anything to add in future (maybe a year or so down the line) I will write another post on them. If you have any questions leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Hopefully I can help. Thank you for reading!

If the Hermès version aren’t for you or you’d like some more affordable dupes I have linked some options below*.
